[January 17, 2012] SOPA Strike

The strike begins tomorrow 8 AM EST to 8 PM EST, hope to see you out there.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing. Also do u recomend joining or not?

Depends on what your view is, really...

The United States Government wants to stop piracy and copyright issues. Its understandable. US Web Traffic, ad revenue, and search traffic could be blocked, which is why the big search engine companies are against it.

If the US Government finds illegal material on your website (US or not) they can sue, arrest, or block your website. Blogs will be blocked too.

YouTube could become a HUGE issue... Let's say a kid was singing a song written by someone famous, they could be sued or arrested because they are using someones else work. The choice is to block some videos or completely shut it down.

And well, we will be stuck with the same old things. Say goodbye to awesome website updates! In order for companies to get money, they need ads... and with this bill, that's gone.

If your against it, that's fine. Just think ahead and look what may come to be.

If your for it, INFORM, CALL YOUR SENATORS, AND KEEP UP-TO-DATE!

Who knows, this website may be gone by January 24th.
